Some difficulties we had with the project included lighting, creating the mood and making movements. We were not sure at first how to do the lighting and just had a spotlight. We were not sure how to portray the sadness in our piece with the lights. However, 1 day before we presented our piece we had an idea to put a blue spotlight on me to show the loneliness and sadness. Creating the mood of sadness was not only difficult with the lighting, but also with our movements. In our rough draft, we were all over the place. It took a lot of brainstorming to figure out new movements for our piece that showed sadness. An easy part of the piece would be the title. It did not take a lot of thinking to come up with the name "loney trees", and it worked perfectly for our piece. Something surprising about our piece was how long it took to brainstorm the middle of the piece where I am lonely. What changed the most from the beginning to the ending of the project was at first in our rough draft we were dancing and showing some happiness with our movements. We realized with some critiques that we did not want this to happen so we changed some of our movements to only sad movements. We all shared ideas for movements in the piece and lighting. We were all leaders in the group when we were either brainstorming or practicing our piece. We improvised when it came to our name of the piece because we only had 1 minute to come up with it and we had to do it on the spot. We used yes.. and in our brainstorming to figure out more movements for our piece because that kept our thinking flowing. I contributed the ideas of the lighting, and the blue light on me, which helped show the feeling of the piece. I also contributed the title of the piece, I came up with it quickly and it also worked well to show the meaning and emotion of the piece. A lot of things worked in our project. 1 thing that worked wa that we had a clear beginning middle and ending. In our beginning we all walked out to the stage and posed as trees. In the middle I was alone showing loneliness and sadness. In the end I walked out, and Emma and Jack soon followed me. What also worked was showing the emotion in the piece. Our lighting and our movements showed all the emotions we wanted them to. The blue light and me being by myself in the middle of the piece represented well what emotions we wanted to show. I think everyone that watched our piece had a clear understanding of what was happening. What needed more work in our project was that it could've been longer, we could've had more movements.
